A place to connect prevention and treatment

General dentistry brings together regular assessment, preventive care, and treatment of common tooth and gum concerns. A useful visit should leave you understanding your current oral health, what needs attention, and which decisions can be made over time.

GREENWICH POINT DENTAL

Start with what matters to you

Tell the team about discomfort, changes in chewing, bleeding, a broken restoration, or worries about appearance. Mention anxiety and practical barriers as well. Your medical history, medicines, and previous dental experiences help shape the examination. If there are several concerns, identify the one affecting daily life most so it does not get lost in a longer treatment conversation.

Understand the findings before the plan

An examination may include assessment of teeth, restorations, gums, bite, and oral tissues, with imaging when appropriate. Ask the dentist to distinguish active disease from a finding that can be monitored. A treatment plan should explain the reason for each recommendation and the reasonable alternatives. You can ask to see the relevant area, image, or measurement in plain language.

Leave with a manageable next step

Prevention works best when it responds to your actual risks and routine. Ask which home-care change would be most useful, when you should return, and what symptoms deserve an earlier call. If specialist care is recommended, clarify its purpose and how follow-up will be coordinated. Request a written sequence when treatment involves several visits so you can plan around health, time, and budget.

GOOD QUESTIONS

A little more clarity.

Do routine visits have to follow the same schedule for everyone?

No. The appropriate interval depends on your findings, history, and current risks. Ask why a particular schedule is recommended and whether changes in your health or symptoms should bring you back sooner.
